Vorobyovy Gory

An apartment for a family of four — parents, a teenager and a younger child. An active lifestyle and frequent travel defined the guiding principle of the project: a home as a quiet base you return to after the motion. A restrained palette of warm milk, beige and graphite combined with pale oak creates an atmosphere of calm. The main challenge was the layout. We had to fit a study, a living room and a home gym into a single space while keeping generous bedrooms and a large open kitchen-living area. Preserving ceiling height was a separate priority — despite the complex engineering built into the project. Every centimetre of the plan is calculated so that the apartment gains functions without losing the feeling of space. The master bedroom holds a full dressing room with 12 metres of wardrobes — enough to organise seasonal clothes, suitcases and accessories without visual noise in the living areas. The social zone is built around deep modular sofas and rounded coffee tables that bring the family together. The kitchen-dining area is deliberately understated — smooth pale fronts, a round dining table and a vertical oak shelving unit acting as soft zoning. Linear light fixtures flow from the living room into the dining area, giving the space its rhythm, while a built-in aquarium works as a living, meditative installation. The private zone is tuned for rest. The master bedroom is done in warm wood tones with graphic ribbons of light above the bed; the en-suite bathroom is almost a spa, with travertine and concealed lighting. The guest bathroom takes a bolder route — terracotta tones and a textured wall reminiscent of a cut of rock, a reference to landscapes seen while travelling. The children's rooms are designed around age and interests. The younger child's room is a play environment with a climbing wall, a rope ladder and wall bars on the ceiling: a full home sports complex in a soft pastel palette. The teenager's room is more grown-up — a workspace, a lounge area and personal accents such as a collectible jersey that reflect the owner's character. Engineering received special attention. The apartment has a supply-and-exhaust ventilation system with air conditioning and humidification, which keeps the indoor climate stable year-round — particularly important for a family with a small child. Track lighting and scene-based illumination complete the system, allowing the mood of every zone to change flexibly throughout the day.
