Moscow City Apartments

The clients for this project were a young family with two grown children, one of whom already lives separately. The owners asked us to arrange the space in line with contemporary trends but without bright colour accents, aiming for an interior that would stay relevant for a long time. The apartments we were given to work with had a number of appealing features, the most important being the panoramic view — a genuine asset for any interior. It not only lets you enjoy the cityscape but turns it into a living design element that interacts with the space inside. The position of the windows let us place the functional zones intuitively. To keep the interior visually cleaner, we moved all storage systems and working appliances into separate rooms. A dark cognac shade of oak plays the foundational role in the project, creating unity across the entire space. This rich yet neutral colour gives the interior warmth and comfort while serving as a backdrop for other materials and textures. To add a contemporary note and contrast with the warm wood, we introduced stainless steel elements. Their polished surfaces reflect light and lend the space a modern, industrial charm. The stone used in the bathrooms completes the colour scheme, adding another layer of texture and natural beauty. Together these three materials create a complex but balanced environment where each plays its part, making the space comfortable, contemporary and timeless all at once.
